Tasting #57: Track Tasting

On Sunday, August 2nd, the Saratoga Whiskey Club had its 57th tasting. It was our annual track tasting, but because of COVID, we were unable to host the tasting at the Saratoga Racetrack. We used a member’s backyard to host the tasting on Zoom. It was a really great tasting of whiskies from the Highlands of Scotland. A lot of fun.

On Wednesday, July 15th, the Saratoga Whiskey Club had its 56th tasting. Alexandra Lynch from Beam Suntory joined us on this evening for a tasting focused on some of the newer Kilbeggan and Tyrconnell releases. It was a great brand tasting with a lot of history and tastes!

Tasting #55: Dusty Bourbons

On Wednesday, July 8th, the Saratoga Whiskey Club had its 55th tasting. This was a very special tasting with some older Bourbons. Most of these bottlings were purchased in Japan during a pop-up Dusty Bourbon sale in Kyoto. We matched these with a couple of older bottlings from here in the US and it made for a special evening.

Tasting #53: Penelope Bourbon Tasting

On Wednesday, June 10th, the Saratoga Whiskey Club had its 53rd tasting. The focus of this tasting was whiskey from Penelope Bourbon, a newer Bourbon company based in New Jersey. We had both founders join us online to go over the history the brand and how the whiskey is sourced and bottled. It was great having the Penelope team online to walk us through the whiskey and history.

Tasting #52: Clyde May’s

On Wednesday, May 13th, the Saratoga Whiskey Club had its 52nd tasting. The focus of this tasting was whiskey from Clyde May’s in Alabama. We had a special guest for this virtual tasting. LC May, the grandson of Clyde May, joined us online to go over the history of his grandfather and how the brand became to be. It was great having LC online to walk us through the whiskey and history.
