Tasting #3 Recap: Kentucky Bourbon-Paired Dinner


On Wednesday, July 27, we held our third tasting of 2016.  This time food was included to pair with Kentucky bourbons.  Here is the menu and the bourbons that were paired with each course:

  • Snack: High West Saloon Popcorn paired with Victory Prima Pils (a pre-dinner beer)
  • Course #1: Cheese, Bacon and Salami Board (2yo Gouda, St Agur Blue, Oscar’s Applewood & Double-Smoked Bacon, Sopressata, Calabrese) paired with Colonel E.H. Taylor Single Barrel
  • Course #2: Smoked Shrimp on mixed greens with a red wine vinaigrette paired with Jefferson’s Reserve Groth Cask Finish
  • Course #3: Kentucky burgoo paired with Four Roses OESV Barrel Strength
  • Course #4: Smoked pork shoulder with a corn fritter and pickles paired with Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary
  • Course #5: Chocolate truffles paired with Blood Oath Pact No 2
